Overview

The Account Director is a leader and collaborator. This individual manages key pieces of business and supports the growth of the account management team. The Account Director is a true partner to our clients and our cross-functional teams and supports the larger agency team in creating revolutionary work.

  • Reports to: Vice President | Account Service

Qualifications

The suggested qualifications for the position of Account Director are:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Advertising, or a related field
  • 8+ years of experience in account management, ideally within an agency but not mandatory; 4+ years of team management and development experience

Responsibilities

  • ​​Managing multiple accounts and supporting the growth and health of each client and their business; building and maintaining strong relationships with senior clients
  • Acquiring a thorough knowledge of the client’s industry, business, and key stakeholders
  • Accountable for maintaining strong relationships with clients and management of expectations while ensuring that the work is on strategy, on time, and on budget
  • Provide thought leadership to clients
  • Set campaign goals and metrics, monitor campaign performance, and provide regular updates to clients on progress and results, ensuring that everything aligns with the client’s business objectives and budget
  • Seeking out and developing new business opportunities with existing clients and with prospective clients
  • Working with internal teams to nurture their performance, skills, and personal development
  • Training and guiding the team to ensure a full understanding of the client brand, their key products and services, business sectors, and buyer behaviors
  • Collaborating with internal teams across departments to ensure that all work is executed flawlessly, from briefing to post-campaign reporting
  • Effectively presenting ideas or solutions internally/externally with an ability to command attention and manage group dynamics through compelling communications
  • Working cross-functionally with the management team and departments
  • Participate in agency-wide strategic planning and contribute to developing processes and procedures for Account Service
  • At times, overnight travel may be required
